Adam's Song è un singolo dei blink-182, estratto dall'album Enema Of The State del 1999. È una delle canzoni più conosciute della band, e sicuramente una delle più serie.
Analisi
Il brano tratta il tema del suicidio. Mark ha rivelato che per scrivere il pezzo si è ispirato alla lettera di un giovane fan, stanco della sua vita monotona, senza amici, passata nella sua stanza a pensare a giorni migliori. Il testo tuttavia è un inno per tutti i ragazzi soli, e nell'ultimo verso li esorta a reagire e ad attendere. Il delicato tema trattato ha tuttavia sollevato numerose critiche, soprattutto a seguito di un tragico episodio che ha visto un giovane togliersi la vita mentre ascoltava proprio questa canzone.
Video
Nel video il trio suona in una stanza tappezzata di vecchie foto. Durante la canzone da ogni foto parte un flash-back che mostra scampi di vita quotidiana della band, mentre intorno qualcuno lascia intravedere problemi che sfuggirebbero ad un occhio poco attento. In realtà il video generalizza il tema trattato, senza focalizzarsi sulla vita di un teenager ma più in generale, su tutti i problemi che ognuno ha, ma che stenta o non vuole mostrare.
